SIA LICENSED OFFICERS

Security Guards for Sites Across the UK

Uniformed, vetted and SIA-licensed security guards who protect your premises, assets and people. Static and manned guarding, day or night, planned around your site.

MANNED GUARDING

Static security guards who know your site

A static security guard is based at one location for the length of their shift. Unlike a patrol officer who visits several sites, they stay with you, learn the layout, get to know your staff and notice when something is out of place. That familiarity is what makes manned guarding so effective, and it is why many businesses keep the same officers on their site for the length of a contract wherever possible.

Every Pride K9 officer holds a valid SIA licence, is background checked and receives continual training. They are uniformed and act as a visible deterrent as well as a trained first response if something happens. You can have a single guard for a few hours or a full team working around the clock.

Your officer is often the first person a visitor or contractor meets, so they represent your business as well as ours. We only employ people we trust to do that well, and we back them with management support throughout the contract.

DUTIES

What our security guards do on site

The exact role is written around your site and your risks. Typical duties include:

  • Access control at gates, reception and site entrances
  • Checking passes, visitors, contractors and deliveries
  • Internal and perimeter patrols with logged checks
  • Monitoring on-site CCTV and alarm panels
  • Locking up, unlocking and opening routines
  • Responding to incidents and following emergency procedures
  • Detailed incident and shift reporting

STRONGER DETERRENCE

Security guards with dogs, patrols or CCTV

Some sites need more than one officer on the gate. For high-risk locations we can pair static guards with our NASDU-approved security dog handlers, who cover the perimeter while your guard manages entry. The combination makes it much harder for anyone to get on site unseen.

Where round-the-clock guarding is more than you need, we can cover the busy hours with a static officer and switch to mobile patrols or monitored security CCTV overnight. We will recommend the mix that fits your risk and budget.

FAQs

Security guard FAQs

What is a static security guard?

A static security guard is an SIA-licensed officer who stays at one fixed location for their shift, such as a business, warehouse, gatehouse or construction site. This differs from a mobile patrol, where an officer visits several sites. Being based on site lets the guard control access, watch for problems and respond straight away if something happens.

Are your security guards SIA licensed and vetted?

Yes. Every Pride K9 guard holds a valid SIA licence, is background checked and is trained before being deployed. We also run ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified management systems, so the way we recruit, brief and support officers follows documented, audited processes.

Do security guards have legal powers?

Security guards do not have police powers. They deter, control access on behalf of the site owner, observe and report. Like any member of the public they can make a citizen's arrest in limited circumstances, and our officers are trained to act within the law and to involve the police when that is the right course.

How much do security guards cost?

The cost depends on your location, the hours of cover, how many officers you need, the length of the contract and the level of risk. Night, weekend and bank holiday cover can also affect the rate. Call 0344 800 7066 for a no-obligation quote built around your site.

Can I have guards for just nights or weekends?

Yes. Many clients only need guarding when their site is closed or at its busiest. We can provide daytime, overnight, weekend or 24/7 cover, and we can combine a static guard with mobile patrols or monitored CCTV to cover the remaining hours at a lower cost.

Can you provide security guards with dogs?

Yes. For sites that need a stronger deterrent we can place NASDU-approved security dog handlers alongside static guards. The guard usually manages the entrance while the handler and dog patrol the perimeter and search areas that are hard to check on foot.
