PRIDE REMOTE MONITORING

Remote CCTV Monitoring and Alarm Verification

Cameras that are watched when it matters. Activations from your site are reviewed, verified and escalated, so a detection turns into a decision rather than a recording nobody sees.

THE DIFFERENCE

What remote CCTV monitoring actually means

A recorded camera stores what happened. A monitored camera gets something done about it. Pride Remote Monitoring sits behind our security CCTV range so that movement on your site is seen, checked and acted on, instead of being reviewed days later once the damage is already done.

Our battery-operated cameras are motion triggered. When a detector picks up movement, a video clip is recorded and sent directly to our Alarm Receiving Centre, where operators view footage 24 hours a day. Nobody sits staring at an empty yard for hours on end. Attention goes to the site that has just triggered an alarm.

Because the equipment runs on solar or battery power and reports over the mobile network, monitoring works on sites with no mains supply and no broadband.

MONITORED OR RECORDED

Monitored CCTV compared with recorded CCTV

The cameras may look similar. What happens after they detect something is what separates them.

Recorded only

Footage is stored and can be downloaded later. Useful for an insurance claim or a police report, but nothing happens while an intruder is still on your site.

Self-monitored

Alerts land on your own phone through the app or web portal. That works well during the day and far less well at three in the morning, when the phone is face down on a bedside table.

Remotely monitored

Activations go to our Alarm Receiving Centre. An operator confirms what actually triggered the alarm and follows the escalation process agreed with you before the system went live.

Monitored with response

Because Pride K9 is a security company rather than an equipment supplier, a confirmed activation can bring an officer or a dog unit to your gate.

Filtered, not flooded

AI-based threat recognition and remotely adjustable detection sensitivity filter out the wind, foliage and wildlife that make some camera systems impossible to live with.

ACTIVATION TO ACTION

How an activation is handled

Every site has an escalation plan agreed in advance. These are the stages it runs through.

1

Detect

A passive infrared sensor or AI analytics pick up movement and the unit records a clip, day or night.

2

Verify

The clip is sent to our Alarm Receiving Centre, where an operator reviews it and decides whether the activation is genuine or a false alarm.

3

Challenge

Where audio is fitted, the operator speaks directly to the intruder through the unit. Sirens and beacons can be triggered on cameras that have them.

4

Escalate

If the activity continues, nominated keyholders, our own patrols or dog units and the police are contacted as set out in your plan.

ALARM VERIFICATION

Why verification is the part that counts

Verification is what makes monitoring worth paying for. Somebody looks at what the camera captured before anyone is called out, so genuine incidents get a fast response and false alarms do not cost you money, goodwill or your standing with the police.

  • Motion or AI detection triggers a recorded clip rather than a permanent live stream
  • Operators at the Alarm Receiving Centre review the footage around the clock
  • Live audio challenges are issued where the unit has a loudspeaker fitted
  • Sirens and flashing beacons fire on camera units equipped with them
  • False alarms are disregarded instead of being passed on to you or the police
  • Confirmed incidents follow the escalation process agreed with you in advance
  • Footage is secured by authorised personnel and kept for 31 days, or longer where the authorities need access to it

CAMERAS PLUS PEOPLE

From a camera alert to someone at the gate

An audio challenge turns most people away. When it does not, the next step is a person on site. Nominated keyholders are called in as part of our escalation process, and because we provide key holding and alarm response ourselves, that does not have to mean waking one of your staff and sending them to a dark site on their own.

Where a verified activation needs a physical presence, we can send SIA-licensed officers or a NASDU-approved security dog team. The police are notified where the incident warrants it, and footage is preserved to support the report.

EQUIPMENT

Monitoring towers, pods and wireless cameras

Monitoring is not tied to one piece of kit. Rapid deployment CCTV towers give wide-area coverage from a mast up to 6 metres, with loudspeakers built in for live audio warnings, which suits open sites where you want intruders warned off early. Security pods take the same approach indoors and at individual points, sending photo-verified alarms when a perimeter is breached.

Wireless security cameras are compact and battery operated, so they are the better answer for a specific position: a gate, a compound corner, a container door or the inside of a part-built unit. Several cameras can cover separate areas of one site and feed the same escalation plan.

Most sites end up with a mixture. We can advise on where cameras should go, usually covering every point of entry and mounted high enough to see a useful amount of the site, and units can be moved as the work moves. The same monitored set-up sits behind our fly-tipping surveillance work.

FAQs

Remote CCTV Monitoring FAQs

Is somebody watching my cameras all of the time?

Not continuously, and that is deliberate. The cameras are motion triggered, so an alarm is raised the moment movement is detected and the clip goes straight to our Alarm Receiving Centre for review. We watch your premises at the most crucial times rather than staring at a still image all day, which is what keeps costs sensible and attention sharp.

What is an Alarm Receiving Centre?

It is the manned centre where camera activations are received and dealt with. Operators there view footage 24 hours a day, decide whether an activation is genuine and follow the escalation process for your site. Nominated keyholders are called into the centre as part of that process, and all footage is secured by authorised personnel.

What is alarm verification and why does it matter?

Verification means a person confirms that an alarm is real before anyone is sent out. An operator reviews the recorded clip and either escalates it or disregards it as a false alarm. It matters because unverified alarms waste callouts, annoy neighbours and reduce the priority the police give to your site when something genuine does happen.

Can the operator speak to an intruder?

Yes, where the unit has audio fitted. Our CCTV towers carry loudspeakers, so an operator can issue a live spoken challenge to whoever is on site. Being addressed directly is usually enough to make people leave. Camera units with sirens and flashing beacons can also be triggered, and those without audio go straight to the escalation stage.

How long is monitored footage kept?

We keep CCTV footage for 31 days, except where it needs to be accessed by the authorities at a later date, in which case it is retained for as long as required. If your site or your insurer has a different retention requirement, tell us and we will discuss it before the system goes live.

Can I still view my own cameras?

Yes. Our battery-operated camera range comes with a web portal and a smartphone app, so you can check your site yourself and download footage when you need it. Monitoring runs alongside that rather than replacing it, which is useful when a site manager wants a quick look during the working day.
