K9 SECURITY COVENTRY
Security dogs for a city built on making and moving things
Coventry grew on car and engineering work, and today much of its commercial land is given over to manufacturing, research and distribution. Business parks at Ansty, Whitley and Binley, and the warehouse sites along the A45 and towards the M6 and M69, hold valuable stock, vehicles and equipment, often across large open yards.
At the same time the city has seen steady rebuilding in and around the centre, with cleared plots, empty buildings and student housing schemes going up. Both types of site benefit from a trained dog team: open ground that is hard to watch, and buildings that need searching properly.

How our Coventry dog teams are trained and managed
Our handlers hold SIA licences and work with NASDU-approved dogs. The team works to BS 8517-1, the British Standard code of practice for security dogs, which covers how handler and dog should work together safely. Dog welfare is planned into every job. We also hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification.
- Handler and dog always work as a pair
- Patrol times varied every shift
- Buildings and containers searched by scent
- Clear incident reporting

FAQs
Coventry security dog handler FAQs
Do you cover business parks outside the Coventry boundary?
Yes. Many of the larger sites around Coventry sit just outside the city, towards Ansty, Rugby, Nuneaton and the Warwickshire towns. These are all within our normal area. Tell us the site address when you get in touch and we can confirm cover and put a plan together.
Can a security dog check inside empty buildings?
Yes. This is one of the main reasons clients use a dog team. A dog can indicate that someone is hiding in a room, stairwell or roof space far faster than a person searching alone. The handler keeps the dog under control, follows safe search practice and only enters where it is safe to do so.
How do you report what happened overnight?
Each shift is logged by the handler, including patrol times, anything found and any action taken. Incidents are reported to your nominated contact. If something needs urgent attention, such as a damaged gate or an intruder, we contact you and the police as needed rather than waiting for the end of the shift.
Are your Coventry dog handlers insured?
Yes. Our services are fully insured, and our handlers are SIA licensed and work with NASDU-approved dogs. We can provide details of our insurance and accreditations as part of your quote, which is useful if your principal contractor or insurer asks for evidence before we start on site.
