SHROPSHIRE K9 SECURITY
Security Dog Handlers in Telford
Shropshire is one of our busiest counties. We supply trained dog teams to Telford's business parks and to rural sites across the county, and cover sites nationwide from the same Walsall base.
K9 SECURITY TELFORD
Dog handlers for Telford's business parks
Telford was planned as a new town, and much of its employment sits on large, purpose-built estates: Halesfield, Stafford Park, Hortonwood and Hadley Park among them. These are well laid out, but they are also spread out, with wide roads, big car parks and a lot of fence line to cover once staff have gone home.
A security dog team suits that kind of layout. The handler and dog can cover a large unit and its yard on foot, check loading bays and trailers by scent, and act as a clear deterrent to anyone driving round the estate looking for an easy target. The M54 runs straight through the town, which makes quick getaways easy for thieves and makes visible security all the more important.

What a K9 security shift in Telford looks like
Before the first shift we visit the site, agree the patrol area and note any hazards such as open water, machinery, livestock or unsafe buildings. On the night, the SIA-licensed handler arrives with a NASDU-approved dog and patrols the agreed ground, varying the route and timing.
The dog's senses are the main advantage. It can detect a person by scent or sound in the dark, in long grass, or inside a barn or container, and alerts its handler. The handler then deals with the situation, keeping the dog under control, and records what happened. On rural sites, where help can be some distance away, that early warning matters.
At the end of the shift the handler completes a report covering patrol times, checks made and anything unusual, such as a cut fence, a vehicle parked nearby at odd hours or signs that someone has tried the doors. Over time those reports help you see where the weak spots are and whether the cover needs to change.

FAQs
Telford security dog FAQs
Can you provide dog handlers for farms around Telford?
Yes. Rural security is a regular part of our work in Shropshire. A dog team can patrol yards, sheds and fields and deter theft of machinery, fuel and tools. We plan around livestock and farm hazards during the site visit, and can add solar-powered cameras where there is no mains power.
Is Shropshire within your normal area?
Yes. Our head office is in Walsall and we cover the whole of the UK from there. Telford, Shrewsbury and the surrounding towns are areas we cover regularly, and the same teams work nationwide when clients need them further afield.
How long can one dog team stay on site?
Shift lengths are agreed with you and planned around the dog's welfare, in line with BS 8517-1. For longer periods of cover, such as a full night or a whole weekend, we plan handovers between teams so the site is never left without cover and each dog works a sensible pattern.
Do you help with unauthorised encampments in Telford?
We provide traveller eviction support and site security afterwards. Once land is clear, a dog team, fencing advice and cameras can help stop a return. Call 0344 800 7066 to talk through the situation and the options available to you as the landowner.
