CITIES AND COUNTRYSIDE

Security for the South West's Cities, Farms and Rural Sites

The South West is a long, largely rural region stretching from the Cotswolds to Land's End. The M5 and M4 carry most freight, with the A30, A38 and A303 serving Devon and Cornwall. Farming, tourism, defence, manufacturing and renewable energy all have a strong presence, and many sites are remote, which makes them harder to protect.

We cover the region through our nationwide service from our Walsall head office, linked to the south west by the M6 and M5. Bristol has its own page. For remote land we often recommend wireless security cameras with patrols, and isolated energy schemes are covered under solar farm security.

AREAS COVERED

South West Areas We Cover

Plymouth in Devon is a port city with the naval base at Devonport, industrial estates and ongoing development. Yards and commercial units there suit guards, patrols and CCTV.

Swindon in Wiltshire sits on the M4 at junctions 15 and 16 and has many warehouses and distribution centres, where static guards and dog handlers help protect stock and trailers.

Gloucester, just off the M5, has historic docks, industrial estates and business parks. The wider county includes farmland and working quarries, where quarry security can combine cameras and patrols.

We also cover Exeter, Cheltenham, Bath, Taunton, Truro and Bournemouth.

HOW WE WORK

Nationwide Cover, Explained Honestly

The South West is covered by our nationwide service, managed from our head office in Walsall, and enquiries are taken 24/7 on 0344 800 7066. We will tell you plainly what we can provide for your site, then brief officers and handlers before they start. For remote rural land, monitored cameras often do much of the work, with patrols or a dog team added when the risk is higher.

SEASONAL PREMISES

Tourism, Farming and Seasonal Premises

Holiday parks, attractions and hospitality businesses across Devon, Cornwall and Dorset often close or scale back outside the main season. Empty caravans, cafes and storage buildings can attract break-ins, so owners use key holding, alarm response and scheduled patrol checks while staff are away.

Farms face a different pattern, with machinery, quad bikes and fuel at risk throughout the year. In both cases, solar-powered cameras give a practical way to watch premises that are some distance from the owner.

FAQs

South West Security FAQs

Can you cover a remote farm in Devon or Cornwall?

Yes. Remote farms usually suit solar-powered wireless cameras that connect over 4G and can be watched through Pride Remote Monitoring. These need no mains power and can cover yards, fuel stores and field gateways. We can add mobile patrols or a dog handler at busy times of year or after incidents.

Do you provide security dog handlers in Swindon?

Yes. We supply NASDU-approved dog handlers across the South West, including Swindon and the M4 corridor. A dog team suits warehouse yards, trailer parks and large open sites, and handlers keep full control of their dogs at all times. We work to BS 8517-1, the code of practice for security dogs.

Can cameras help with fly-tipping on rural land?

Cameras placed at gateways, lanes and field entrances can deter dumping and record activity when it happens. Our fly-tipping surveillance uses wireless units that do not need a power supply, so they can be positioned where the problem is and moved if the dumping shifts to another spot.

Is Pride K9 based in the South West?

No. Our head office is in Walsall, WS1 3BZ, in the West Midlands. We cover Bristol, Plymouth, Swindon, Gloucester and the rest of the South West through our nationwide service, which is available 24/7. We are open about this and will explain how cover would work for your site.
